Interior design consultancy

Feioi is run by Jennifer Chong, an interior designer based in Cambridge, UK, offering a professional yet approachable design consultancy service.

Interior design is often seen as a luxury service reserved only for those with huge houses and incomes to match, but everyone deserves a home they consider to be beautiful that functions well for their lifestyle. Feioi offers a simple, transparent, interior design package as a perfect introduction to professional interior design.

Renovation and Home Design

Hello, allow me to introduce myself…

My name is Jennifer Chong and I’m an interior designer living in the lovely city of Cambridge, UK. I set up Feioi in 2015, originally offering an interior design project management service for clients looking for design advice coupled with hassle-free home renovation. I started a blog on my interiors and lifestyle musings with lots of (hopefully) useful ideas and advice, that also served as another creative outlet. However I’ll admit that as my workload has increased, the blog has sadly been neglected. I have also written articles published on the home renovation and design platform Houzz. In 2017, I set up a second business venture and founded the Cambridge Home + Garden Show to showcase all the incredible creative businesses I have come across in the local design sector.

Feioi is now an interior design consultancy service providing simple packages for anyone seeking professional interiors advice. I believe everyone deserves to live in a beautiful, functional home and smart design concepts can be applied to any space, no matter the size or budget.

Throughout my career I have gained a wealth of experience managing interior design projects and coordinating events. This has allowed me to hone my organisational skills and develop my knowledge of the interiors industry. My approach to interior design is quite practical and I always aim to design a space that works for the client while incorporating my design style, which I describe as understated modern elegance. The aesthetic is clean and simple with the odd unexpected twist. My belief is that a home should not only look beautiful but also be easy to live in and work for your lifestyle so I always keep functionality in mind.

I have had the pleasure of discovering many local businesses through my work as an interior designer and as a result of organising two Cambridge Home + Garden Show events. I’m an avid supporter of independent and local business and promote them through social media and to my clients.

2 hour in home consultation – £150

For £150 (travel charges may apply) I will visit you in your home and you get to pick my brain on absolutely anything interior design related for two hours. We can focus on one or two spaces or we can cover a variety of smaller issues, depending on what you need.

This package is perfect for anyone looking for some design guidance but hasn’t used an interior designer before. You don’t need to commit yourself to an entire project but a little professional advice goes a long way. It’s ideal for those who have no clue where to begin or perhaps you’re bursting with ideas and need some help making decisions and honing your design scheme. I’ll help you with useful tips, tricks and ideas to allow you to do it yourself, or if you find you need additional services I can provide follow up for £70 per hour or recommend someone suitable from the local design industry.

My design advice is clear, straightforward and honest. I will always tell you what I really think, even if it isn’t what you want to hear and I’ll challenge you to step out of your comfort zone (or rein you in if that’s what you need!) I’m not snobby about budgets and I’ll suggest ways to save you money, time and stress wherever possible.

If you would like to book a consultation or if you have any questions about the service, please feel free to contact me. I’m very happy to have a no-obligation chat about what you need to see if it’s right for you. You can see examples of my work and read testimonials from previous clients here.

Larger projects

If you are considering an interior designer to assist you with a larger scale project and would like to discuss a more in-depth service then please contact to discuss your requirements in more detail. Again, there is no obligation but I would be happy to have a chat to find out more about your project and what you need. For example, if you’re looking to design and project manage your own work, we could arrange a weekly visit for me to provide design advice, help to make decisions, troubleshoot problems and point out possible pitfalls to watch out for. I’ll provide a fixed price so you don’t need to worry about escalating costs. If I feel that I wouldn’t be the right fit for your project, I can recommend another design professional that I think would be more suitable.

I’m based in Cambridge, UK but am happy to travel to surrounding areas for consultations. In some cases, I can also offer advice remotely depending on the nature of the work, either by email or via video calls. If you would like to book a consultation, discuss a project, or have any questions about my services, please get in touch. Just pop an email over or use the contact form below – I would love to hear from you!
