Add a little bling to your home with Star by Julien Macdonald

Star by Julien Macdonald for Debenhams SS17 PR event

It was a lovely sunny day as I headed down to London a few weeks ago (yes, this post is long overdue!) I’d been invited to the Debenhams preview for the Star by Julien Macdonald collection at the Sanderson Hotel, and now I’ve decided to share my thoughts with you lovely lot. Aren’t you lucky?

If you’re familiar with Julien Macdonald’s designs, you’ll know he isn’t afraid of glitter and sparkle, and this collection didn’t disappoint. Some people love the glitz and glam but others aren’t so keen, either not being sure how to use it or simply feeling like it isn’t their cup of tea. However, as someone who’s partial to a little bling, I’d like to show you how a little sparkle can be a good thing no matter what your interior style.

A beautiful Airbnb apartment in Genoa

I’m baaaaaaack! Apologies to all my readers, subscribers and followers for the totally unplanned hiatus on the blog, but I’m back into it and will try much harder to post regularly from now on. If you have any requests for blog topics then please let me know, I’d love to hear from you and find out what you’re into.

So, today’s blog post is all about this gorgeous Airbnb apartment I stayed in during a recent trip to Genoa. For the record, this is not a sponsored post or in any way endorsed by Airbnb. I didn’t even choose it, my sister organised it, all I did was rock up! However, when we did arrive, I was so full of heart eyes 😍😍😍 I just had to share it with you. Posting a couple of snaps on Instagram got a big reaction so I decided to dust off the blog and write about it.

Abigail Ahern Debenhams Designer Apartment at Cheval Three Quays - bedroom

Getting back into my daily routine after the festive season has been something of a challenge and I’m suffering from some serious January blues ☹️ The post-Christmas comedown is just too much! In an attempt to combat this annual mood-slump, I try to have various lovely things to look forward to in the New Year. With this in mind, imagine my delight when a little invitation dropped into my inbox before Christmas from Debenhams PR team inviting me to an Abigail Ahern apartment takeover at the Cheval Residences! So last week I crammed myself onto a commuter train and headed to London to check it out…and I’m so glad I did as it turned out to be pretty damn awesome.

As featured on Houzz – kitchen bins and laundry baskets

Jennifer Chong in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, UK on HouzzWell first off can I just wish you all a very Happy New Year! It’s a few days late but this is my first post of 2017 so what you gonna do? It’s been a year since I started blogging and it’s been a lot more fun than I expected leading to loads of opportunities, including writing for Houzz. My articles have generated a lot of interest and I’m pleased to say that many of them now appear in their ‘Most Popular‘ section! It’s so lovely to hear when readers enjoy the features and find them useful, so thank you to everyone that reads, likes, follows and shares. You’re all super stars!

At the end of last year I had two articles published on Houzz that I didn’t get round to featuring here on my own blog so this one is a twofer! The first, 10 Smart Storage Tips for Your Kitchen Bins, covers some neat tips and ideas to tackle your kitchen bin storage. The second is 10 Smart and Stylish Ways to Store Your Laundry Baskets, which looks at a variety of different ways and locations to store your laundry baskets.

Feioi’s falling for…Christmas

Catesby's Gingerbread House Votive Candles - set of 6

Ok so it’s still November, but you know what? I don’t care! All you bah humbug types just stop reading this post, you’re not going to like it. I love Christmas, it’s pretty much the only good thing about winter as far as I’m concerned and after the #ElyChristmasCracker blogger meet up last week, I am well and truly in the festive spirit!

It’s been a while since I’ve done a #FeioiFinds post but how could I not squeeze one in before Christmas as we all gear up to bling up our homes for the most wonderful time of the year? I can’t resist buying a few new Christmas decorations every year and while I’m all for festive fun, I do like a classy Christmas. My family know not to decorate the tree without my supervision (one year when they did, I may have taken it all down and redecorated it…yes I am that person 😳). So if you want to inject some Christmas cheer into your home without the kitsch, take a look at my favourite festive finds…

6 tips to get the White Company look in your home

The White Company - lacquer stacking trays

When it comes to interiors, The White Company gives us serious house goals to aspire to. It’s actually incredible how the brand has established such a distinctive style based on the colour white. You can’t really get more standard than white, it’s basically a non-colour. However, show most people a photo from their catalogue or website and anyone familiar with the company will know where it’s from in a shot. Now that’s a strong brand image.

From beautiful bed linen to gorgeous furniture and accessories, their range of products is stylish, timeless, classic and resonates with quality. The question is, how to put it all together to achieve the same look in your own home? Here are six tips and tricks to help you create that White Company style.

Light in the home mini-series – a recap!

Feioi bathroom renovation

I’ve been super busy sorting things out for the very exciting SmartHouzz pod for Houzz at designjunction lately and things are just kicking off with the build. This means I’m in full-blown designer/project manager mode and as a result, have had zero time to blog 😦

But fear not, I’ve got something up my sleeve. Do you remember on Friends when, every now and then, there was an episode just made up of clips from old episodes and it was really annoying? Well this is one of those…in blog form. Some of you may remember that a while ago I did a mini-series on Light in the Home. It got a bit much writing about lighting all the time so I interspersed it with posts about other things so it’s all over the place! For those interested in learning a little about lighting design how to use light in the home, I thought it might be helpful to have them all in one place. So here it is…
