Think of the big picture. That’s what people always say, isn’t it? Of course the big picture, and being able to visualise it, is very important when it comes to interior design project management but what about the little things? Little things can get pushed aside while considering the big picture, delayed until a later date or forgotten about completely. However, it’s the little things that turn “nice” interior design into OMG A-MAZ-ING interior design. And who doesn’t want that?
I’m not going to list eeeeeevery tiiiiiiny little detail you might want to consider. It varies so much from room to room, house to house, project to project. I’d be here forever and you’ll be bored. Instead, here are a few ideas to get you started. The rest is up to you…

Interior design loves a black accent. Think of it like your favourite pair of black boots or a little black jacket. It goes with everything, brings out the brightness in colours and makes an outfit pop. Case in point:

If you’re planning on doing up your bathroom or cloakroom, do nothing until you’ve read this! Bathrooms can be complicated and tricky so getting it right requires serious planning and organisation. Do you love your bathroom? For some it’s a room that is purely practical. Get in. Get out. Others like to take their time to relaaaaaaax while an angry queue forms outside. Either way, who says you can’t inject a little luxury and turn it into a haven of loveliness? I recently enjoyed a wonderful spa weekend at Wyboston Lakes and it gave me some great ideas to up my bathroom game.

No, this is a post about what comes next and all the things to think about when tiling a room or area.
So anyway, you’ve found the perfect tile for your project so you just hand it over to your builder and let him get on with it right? Wrong! Here’s your checklist: Continue reading “A guide to tiling like a pro”
