Add a little bling to your home with Star by Julien Macdonald

Star by Julien Macdonald for Debenhams SS17 PR event

It was a lovely sunny day as I headed down to London a few weeks ago (yes, this post is long overdue!) I’d been invited to the Debenhams preview for the Star by Julien Macdonald collection at the Sanderson Hotel, and now I’ve decided to share my thoughts with you lovely lot. Aren’t you lucky?

If you’re familiar with Julien Macdonald’s designs, you’ll know he isn’t afraid of glitter and sparkle, and this collection didn’t disappoint. Some people love the glitz and glam but others aren’t so keen, either not being sure how to use it or simply feeling like it isn’t their cup of tea. However, as someone who’s partial to a little bling, I’d like to show you how a little sparkle can be a good thing no matter what your interior style.

A beautiful Airbnb apartment in Genoa

I’m baaaaaaack! Apologies to all my readers, subscribers and followers for the totally unplanned hiatus on the blog, but I’m back into it and will try much harder to post regularly from now on. If you have any requests for blog topics then please let me know, I’d love to hear from you and find out what you’re into.

So, today’s blog post is all about this gorgeous Airbnb apartment I stayed in during a recent trip to Genoa. For the record, this is not a sponsored post or in any way endorsed by Airbnb. I didn’t even choose it, my sister organised it, all I did was rock up! However, when we did arrive, I was so full of heart eyes 😍😍😍 I just had to share it with you. Posting a couple of snaps on Instagram got a big reaction so I decided to dust off the blog and write about it.

The new Abigail Ahern collection for Debenhams

Abigail Ahern Debenhams Designer Apartment at Cheval Three Quays - bedroom

Getting back into my daily routine after the festive season has been something of a challenge and I’m suffering from some serious January blues ☹️ The post-Christmas comedown is just too much! In an attempt to combat this annual mood-slump, I try to have various lovely things to look forward to in the New Year. With this in mind, imagine my delight when a little invitation dropped into my inbox before Christmas from Debenhams PR team inviting me to an Abigail Ahern apartment takeover at the Cheval Residences! So last week I crammed myself onto a commuter train and headed to London to check it out…and I’m so glad I did as it turned out to be pretty damn awesome.

Cambridge Contemporary Art bloggers event

Cambridge Contemporary Art

I’m a lucky girl. The lovely team at Cambridge Contemporary Art and Cambridge Contemporary Crafts very kindly invited me to their bloggers event this week, and it was a delightful evening. Now I know I’ve been a bit quiet on the blogging front, but this inspirational evening perusing some fab pieces of art and handmade crafts, coupled with the chance to meet some lovely fellow bloggers, has given me a kick up the bum to get back on the blog. So here I am.

Sofa.com collaboration with Barneby Gates for Design Lab AW16

sofa.com with Barneby Gates Bluebell three seat sofa in Owl linen, Bluebell armchair in Owl woven, Ottoman footstool in Owl linen

I do love hearing about exciting new collaborations and when they’re with up and coming designers then that’s even better (because everyone loves an underdog). It’s for this very reason that the Design Lab from sofa.com gets a big thumbs up from me! 👍🏼

The bi-annual initiative by sofa.com teams up with UK textile designers to create beautiful limited edition collections. These exclusive ranges pair the stylish furniture designs of sofa.com with fabrics designed by fresh, new talent. Their AW16 collection with design duo Barneby Gates launches next month but I’ve had a sneak peek and decided it’s too good to keep to myself!

The new upholstery range from Heal’s

I do love a good sofa. And I also love new stuff! So when I was asked to check out the shiny new upholstery collection from Heal’s, I was all too happy to oblige.

As well as a wide range of carefully curated designer products, Heal’s also have their own range of furniture and accessories. Known for their design-forward style, the in-house products are designed and manufactured exclusively for Heal’s and hold their own amongst the other big name brands that the store carries. I was eager to see the new upholstery collection and I wasn’t disappointed. Here’s a little taster…

The new collection from Neptune

It’s been a little over seven months since I started blogging and I have to say, it’s been pretty good actually! My posts seem to be going down well, I’m gaining something of a following, and the lovely people at Houzz liked it so much, they asked me to write features for them, which means I’m officially a professional writer! *hair flick*

Neptune Autumn/Winter 2016

One of the best things about being an interiors blogger is that I get to hear about new exciting products and events in the interiors world. I was delighted to be invited to some press shows recently, the first of which I attended last month, including the Autumn/Winter 2016 preview from Neptune.

The new collection featured some really smart new furniture pieces, gorgeous new fabrics and the new Mustard paint colour. Neptune had taken over a gallery space and impressively transformed the empty shell into a stunning showcase featuring both new and existing products. The displays cleverly demonstrated how to mix things up and think outside the box in terms of form and function. Here’s the run down…
